About me

Hi there! I’m 53 years old, I have been married for 30 years. My wife and I have 2 sons, 30 and 32 years old. We have one 3 year old grandson.

In my job, I’m programming and maintaining a massive sales configurator, using Tacton TCStudio, for the product line we sell. I have been working with Tacton TCStudio since 2014.

In my free time, I enjoy barebow archery, model building, woodworking, house renovation projects, programming, listening to music and spending time with my family and friends.

In January 2025, I signed up as a volunteer with Coding Pirates. This is an organization that teaches children, 8 through 17 years old, basic programming skills.

My adventure into computers started when I got my first computer for my 11th birthday. This is my early CV in computers and programming.

  • 1983 – ZX Spectrum 48k – Basic and first encounters of machine code (peek, poke, leek, loke etc.).
  • 1986 – Amstrad CPC 464 – Basic and some machine code.
  • 1987 – Amstrad PC1512 – IBM Basic, Pascal.
  • 1993 – Amiga 1200 – AMOS Professional, MC68000 assembly language using DevPac 3.14

In 1998, I wanted to start learning X86 assembly language. So I started investigating what would be the best platform. I found Linux to be a very good development platform, and started off with Red Hat 5.2. From that day on, my heart have been set on Linux. I’ve had several PCs since 1998 and they all share the same characteristics – Dual boot between Windows and Linux.

These days I only boot into Windows, to do system updates. All my daily usage is in Linux.
